Top Paragliding Spots Worldwide
For those who are interested in paragliding it is good to know that the flight options are not limited to the sites close to home. There are plenty of great sites all over the world.
Mozambique
Head to the Bazaruto Archipelago in Mozambique, a series of islands situated off the coast. It is so remote that it is very undeveloped. For miles all there is to see are sandy white beaches and clear waters. This is a site that is suitable for paragliding all year round.
Switzerland
A trip to the Canton of Bern means that the town of Wengen is within easy reach. This is known as a skiing and hiking village and tourists come here all year round. A great way to see the UNESCO-protected Jungfrau-Aletsch is by paragliding. There is a variety of sites and paragliders of all abilities will love it.
New Zealand
Queenstown in Otago is a great resort town located on Lake Wakatipu. The town sits at the base of the southern Alps so there are many possible launch sites. There are plenty of other extreme sports that can be tried too. The views of the unspoilt countryside are best appreciated from the air though.
South Korea
The town of Danyang in South Korea may not be the most obvious destination for paragliders but it is becoming extremely popular. It is just a couple of hours’ drive from the capital city of Seoul and is very much a tourist town. Two runways have been created for those who want to take part in paragliding and hang gliding on Mount Yangbangsand and Mount Dusan. Both of these offer great views of the surrounding areas. This is another all year-round site.
